Glad you are enjo...Hi Jclef,

Thanks for posting.

Glad you are enjoying the posts. :) There is at least one more post on the topic, possibly two, but I may make another post in between.

Since reflecting, I am finding a number of things I like about the different editions and I must confess that I am pleasantly surprised that I have found a number of aspects about the second edition that I overlooked before.

My own group has varied in size over the years. In the latter years, it has comprised of only three players, myself, my wife and a friend. Before that, I used to have another regular two players and in the very early days the number could run into ten!

As you can imagine, having quick and easy to play rules was essential with larger numbers just to keep the game flowing.

Lance.Lance Botelle (Bard of Althéa)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16124192098553066324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8776163819760508132.post-4447956340841320292011-04-25T19:15:35.605+01:002011-04-25T19:15:35.605+01:002nd edition was my first and still my favorite. I...2nd edition was my first and still my favorite. I know there were tons of extra rules, but for the most part, we didn't worry about the gritty details - we just made stuff up as we went, usually rolling a 20 sided to determine the "weird" stuff.

Our group was pretty large, and at times had 8+ people at the table, so being able to browse through a bunch of different manuals during gameplay was cool.

I especially like the artwork of the 2nd edition!

Nice posts, btw! :DJclefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12974504403280077032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8776163819760508132.post-73027406125571592952011-04-25T13:56:14.512+01:002011-04-25T13:56:14.512+01:00Hi Kamal,

If you read that, you will see that I have that copy of the book as well. I wonder how many are still around?

Lance.Lance Botelle (Bard of Althéa)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16124192098553066324noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8776163819760508132.post-40143862178847084992011-04-23T20:30:13.295+01:002011-04-23T20:30:13.295+01:00Those were the good old days. One of my friends had the deities and demigods book with the cthulhu and melnibonian mythos creatures before they had to remove them due to copyright.Kamalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17637115231105776944noreply@blogger.com
